WOOFYT Workshop

  • St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral 300 Great Western Road Glasgow, Scotland, G4 9JB United Kingdom (map)

St Mary's Cathedral Glasgow are hosting the WOOFYT as part of their historic organ restoration project (anorganforglasgow.org). The wooden one-octave organ for young technologists (WOOFYT) is an interactive workshop in which participants will play with a bare-bones arrangement of organ pipes and bellows. It is designed to teach the physics and engineering principals behind the instrument.

The workshop is open to all who are interested in science and the organ at 10.30 on the 13th of September. Children in particular are encouraged to attend; the minimum age is 7yrs and children must be accompanied.

The event is free with retiring collection for the organ restoration fund - please register for your place at woofytglasgow.eventbrite.com. More information about the WOOFYT can be found at woofyt.org. This event has been generously supported by the Glasgow Society of Organists - as such, members are warmly invited to attend this event.
